Moving to Bangkok from the US — the order things actually happen in

Almost nothing has to be done in the order people do it in. The two items that actually gate everything else are an address and a bank account — and each depends on the other more than anyone tells you.

The one we do not handle

US tax obligations do not stop when you leave. We rent condos; we are not qualified to advise on that, and the people who get it wrong tend to have taken advice from a forum. If you want an introduction to someone who does this properly, ask — it costs you nothing and we do not take a cut from you.

Send me the three condos that will sign your paperwork

Tell me your dates, budget and which district you are looking at. I will come back with three places whose landlords actually do the documents — and what each one will and will not sign.

Not immigration or legal advice. This page explains what a landlord and a lease need to do. For the application itself, use a licensed agent or the official channels. We rent condos — that is the part we know.
